With Peter Youngren

 

Dr. Peter Youngren, a well known preacher of the Gospel, came from Canada to preach in Pakistan. He has traveled to most countries in the world. In 2003 and 2008 he came to Karachi and in September 2009 he came to Hyderabad, another Pakistani city which is located 150km from Karachi. I love him because He is a true man of God. He shares only the Gospel and nothing else. He is not a preacher of any religion, Christianity or any cults. He only speaks that there is “Power in the Gospel”. There is not any discrimination or prejudice in him. His key verse is: “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.”

I am privileged to be his interpreter. Besides translating two of his books, I have translated for him in daytime seminars as well as in evening programs. Even He himself asks organizers to ask Pastor Malik for translation. Also our vision is the same to reach the nation with the Gospel of Power. I have played my part along with Peter Youngren.

There were two kinds of programs in September 2009. During the daytime there was a seminar for the leaders which ran for three days from 9a.m. to 1p.m. Topics were designed to encourage leaders to reach the nationals. There were 2,000 leaders who participated in the seminar which was held in a marriage hall.

The evening programs were scheduled to run for five days – from the 23rd to 27th of September 2009. They were open air programs. The first day there were 35,000 people, 45,000 attended the second day, and on the 3rd day there were 55-60,000 people.  Can you imagine that a majority of those in attendance were not Christians? Muslims and Hindus came for their HEALING but they received the HEALER first. With my own eyes I saw a lot of miracles happen and it is proof that JESUS IS ALIVE. Heleloya! Amen.

Because of this program, Sindh Province has now been shaken in Jesus’ Name. Police said, “We don’t have enough policemen to handle it should there be any miss happening.” They also said, “We received many threats against this program from various agencies.  So we can’t allow you to have program for the last two days.” We tried our best to meet with High officers in an effort to change their minds but it made no difference. The last two days of our program were canceled by the High officers of the city.

Nevertheless, thousands of people came the last two days as well. After hearing that the program had been canceled, they were very upset with police and I even heard that they were kissing the wood on the platform and laying their hands on the walls to receive healing. A lot of the people were crying and asking, “Why is the government not allowing this program to continue?” Many people had arrived in Hyderabad after a long journey.

One thing we know is that the people of Sindh came to know that there is power in Jesus’ (Essa’s) Name. They heard the clear Gospel. Being a follower of Christ, I don’t think Peter Youngren said anything against the Word of God or against any religion. This is not his purpose. That is the reason people all over the world love him.

We also had a Conference with some of the great people of the city, followed by having lunch together. It was good to see all of them and to give them the opportunity to hear the Gospel. There were representatives of the Government as well as Political and Religious parties such as Muslims, Sikhs, Hindus, Communists, Bahi Sect and Shias as well. I translated for them in English and then for Dr. Peter in Urdu. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have.
